Mission & Vision
Talk to your typical high school student – what are they passionate about? It’s not likely to be what they are studying in school. You see, there is a serious problem in our schools — students are not engaged in their learning, and therefore they are not achieving the results that parents, teachers, community members, and businesses expect. Solving this problem requires the whole community, out-of-the-box thinking and real partnerships between schools, parents, businesses, and community-based organizations.

So where should we start? The research is clear. Achieving success requires our lessons to reflect the real world in which our students live and help them feel empowered to shape their future education, career, and citizenship.
Our Mission
KOREducators is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to:
- Empowering Individuals: To develop student’s leadership skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong sense of self efficacy to help them achieve their personal, academic, and community goals.
- Enriching Communities: To engage students in community-based learning, which will strengthen their ties to each other and the broader community while addressing neighborhood needs.
- Shaping Education: To combine educational research with innovative applications of service learning, a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and other strong academic practices that can be used as a model to achieve excellence in all Portland Public Schools.
We believe that education is the great equalizer in this nation and access to quality educational opportunities for all students regardless of race, income, or particular circumstance is vital to our community. Leadership & Entrepreneurship Public High School is a place that will foster a strong sense of self efficacy, character, and confidence.
